Huawei E5787 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot Review

Huawei E5787 4G+ is a new mobile LTE Hotspot which has been released last year and now it’s available for many network providers in Asia and Europe. This is the successor to the popular Huawei E5786 from the year 2014. As the predecessor, the E5786 modem supports up to 300 MBit/s in the downlink (LTE category 6), technically speaking, not much has changed. The new Huawei E5787 has the large touch screen on the front, with which the hotspot is particularly easy to use. In the test, you will see the detail features of the Huawei E5787 and the specifications.

Appearance

The Huawei E5787 4g+ MiFi is available in black and white. The device is slightly smaller than the predecessor Huawei E5786 and works overall quite inconspicuous. The large touchscreen display is visible on the front, but an LED indication is not available. At the top of the hotspot is the power button, there is a micro-USB port as well as two TS-9 antenna connectors. In addition to the power supply and USB charging cable, it also includes a small hand loop in the package, which can be attached to the router.

The first impression is quite good. After inserting the SIM card as well as the battery (nano-SIM cards with adapter on MicroSIM work safely) you have to start the Huawei E5787 over a long press on the power button. If you do not use a completely exotic provider, the LTE Hotspot configures itself completely automatically and after entering the SIM PIN you are already online.

Technical specifications

The Huawei E5787 is sold worldwide in several variants, which support different frequency ranges. The Huawei E5787s-33a is available in Europe and is compatible with all frequency bands that are important in Europe but can also be used on other continents. Unfortunately, with the chipset has not changed in comparison to the predecessor, there is still “only” LTE Cat6 with 300 MBit/s. Many smartphones such as the Huawei P10  or the Samsung Galaxy S8 are already offered at least 600 MBit/s in the downlink with a higher-level chipset, and the Netgear AirCard 810 touch screen hotspot is also providing faster service.

Operation & Touchscreen

The E5787 is Huawei’s first mobile WLAN router with touch-screen operation. The display is 2.4 inches in size and provides a color display. The plastic cover over the display reflects quite strongly and the display quality of the display is not comparable to that of current smartphones, but much worse. You can recognize all the contents well, but when you look at the display, it is somewhat brighter. But the response of the screen is good, and usually one seldom uses the display at an LTE Hotspot.

Huawei E5787 E5787s-33a

The speed of the software and the response speed of the touchscreen could be convincing. Huawei offers a much better experience in the E5787 hotspot than Netgear AirCard 790 or AirCard 810 Hotspot. Also, the software is quite appealing, without losing the functionality from the eye.

On the start screen, all important functions are displayed by default. This includes a large time display including the date as well as the status bar Information about the reception, WLAN and battery. Access to further functions or the settings is obtained by unlocking the E5787 with a “Swipe” to the left. In the main menu, there are the 6 menu items “Connection Wizard”, “Energy Saving Mode”, “SSID and Password”, “SMS”, “Settings” and “Info”.

In addition to the touchscreen operation, a web interface is also available, which can be accessed via the IP address 192.168.8.1. In addition, the Huawei HiLink app is also available for iOS and Android, with which a configuration is also possible.

LTE up to 300 MBit/s

Theoretically, the Huawei E5787 with its LTE Cat6 modem reaches speeds of up to 300 MBit/s in the downlink. For this purpose, the hotspot bundles two frequency bands by carrier aggregation technology provided that the mobile radio network also makes this technology available. In the test, speed tests were carried out with SIM cards from Vodafone and Telekom, but only in the frequency range around 800 megahertz, in particular, to be able to test the reception and the speed in remote areas. The Huawei E5787 made a good figure here, especially in comparison with various smartphones, reception is often better and the data rates were slightly higher. In case of doubt, an external antenna can also be connected for the purpose of improving the reception; the necessary two TS-9 connectors are hidden under a side cover. If you need the Huawei E5787 external antenna, you may try this one: http://www.4gltemall.com/4g-antenna-two-ts-9-connector.html

Huawei E5787 E5787s-33a

WLAN without Extender

Devices can be connected to the Internet either via the USB port or via WLAN. The cable connection worked in the test without problems, but most users will probably use WLAN. The maximum speed over WLAN is 867 Mbps, up to 10 devices can be connected at the same time. The Huawei E5787 supports both the frequency range around 2.4 GHz as well as the 5 GHz, the simultaneous use in the dual-band mode is unfortunately not possible. In the test, there were no problems with the WLAN. It is nice that the WLAN access data are no longer displayed in the display like on some previous Huawei hotspots, but are only displayed on demand, so as the important settings such as WLAN SSID, WLAN password.

A major disadvantage of the Huawei E5787 compared to many other LTE hotspots: a so-called WLAN extender or WLAN repeater is missing. The predecessor E5786 had still integrated the function, with which one can use an existing WLAN network as Internet access, but in the E5787, Huawei disabled the function for unknown reasons. It’s really a pity.

Huawei-E5786 VS Huawei E5787

Battery & Other

The battery of the Huawei E5787 has a capacity of 3.000 mAh. The battery can easily be replaced by the user, which is an advantage compared to the predecessor model Huawei E5786. So you can buy a second battery or in the case of a battery defect, quickly replace it even outside the warranty period. In continuous test operation with an average of 3 WLAN devices connected simultaneously to 2.4 GHz, the runtime was around 10 hours.

The E5787 4G Hotspot offers the possibility to also be used as an external battery (“Powerbank”), which can charge an empty smartphone with power off. For a full charge, it should not be enough with most current smartphones, so the Powerbank function is, therefore, more suitable for the emergency.

Conclusion

The Huawei E5787 is a very good LTE hotspot. The touch screen operation was well implemented and the software was designed appealing. The modem performance was good in the test and the maximum speed of 300 MBit/s should be sufficient for most users, but it is disappointing that Huawei “only” installed an LTE Cat6 modem and the E5787 has no great technical improvement. Also some practical functions are missing: the simultaneous spark on 2.4 and 5 Gigahertz is not supported and support of a maximum of 10 devices at the same time in comparison with the competition also somewhat obsolete. Nevertheless: if one can ignore the few criticism points, the Huawei E5787 a very good mobile LTE hotspot to recommend.

TP-Link M7650 4G LTE Mobile WiFi Router

TP-Link has announced the TP-Link M7650 Mi-Fi at CeBIT in Hannover. This new mobile Wi-Fi router will allow us to enjoy fast wireless connectivity anytime and anywhere. Whether in or out of our home, we will have the opportunity to watch HD movies on the tablet. It will also be possible to stream audio quality through our smartphone. The new TP-Link M7650 Mi-Fi offers download speeds of up to 600 Mbps and 50 Mbps upload for ultra-fast mobile connections with the support of LTE Category 11, which is almost double of the speeds from TP-link M7350 Hotspot.

It’s said that the TP-Link M7650 Mi-Fi is already the fastest mobile Wi-Fi router of the brand. The user can choose within the Wi-Fi 11ac the band of 5 GHz. This will allow you to achieve a speed of 687 Mbps, you can also opt for the 2.4 GHz band and get a speed of 300 Mbps. The pocket is capable of serving more than 32 mobile devices simultaneously(smartphones, tablets, etc.). This is praiseworthy since most mobile LTE routers currently support between 10 and 15 devices.

The TP-Link M7650 Mi-Fi offers a comfortable and manageable design. Its weight is so light that it will allow us to carry it in the pocket of the jacket without problems. Its small size does not prevent it from being manufactured with the latest technologies, those that meet any mobile need. This Wi-Fi router so compact equips a battery of 3000 mAh. According to company data, this figure will allow us to use the device for about 15 hours at full capacity.

On the other hand, in the section of the connections, we find a micro USB port. Thanks to it, the user will have more flexibility to load it from a laptop. Its operation is so simple, that it is only necessary to insert the SIM card and press the power button. Then the device will create a high-speed LTE network in just 30 seconds. In addition, the user will be continuously informed of the transmission speed. You will also know the number of devices connected, and the status of the battery or data consumption.

The TFT color display of the mobile LTE router measures 1.44 inches in the diagonal. The display does not provide a touch function. The router menu is navigated through two physical keys. Alternatively, the settings of the device can also be changed in the browser window via the MiFi app of TP-Link. In the menu, the user has the possibility to set data limits or assign a password for the network.

The TP-Link M7650 is also equipped with a microSD slot, into which a memory card with up to 32 GB can be plugged. The storage capacity should be sufficient to store or store photos, videos or other files when the internal memory of your own smartphone is sophisticated.

At the moment, the launch date of the new TP-Link  M7650 Mi-Fi are unknown. We will update the news about TP-link M7650 in future. If you are interested in other TP-Link 4G mobile hotspot, welcome to check here: https://www.4gltemall.com/4g-wireless-router/tp-link.html

Alcatel LinkZone MW40V New LTE Hotspot

Recently, Alcatel offered a very favorable mobile LTE hotspot with WLAN: LinkZone MW40V. What’s most attracting is the very good price of this new 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot. With a low price, of course you cannot expect top equipment, but for many users, the integrated LTE modem for up to 150 MBit/s should be sufficient in any case. The operating time is up to 6 hours on continuous use based on 1.800 mAh strong battery.

Simple design

The Alcatel LinkZone MW40V Hotspot is made of matt black plastic, with four LEDs on the front(signal strength, WLAN, SMS and battery status), which receive signal from mobile radio reception. On the side there is a micro-USB 2.0 port for charging the battery, but no other interfaces such as connectors for an external antenna, which is very common in Huawei 4G mobile routers such as E5573, E5372, E5786. The SIM card must be in the MicroSIM format and is inserted under the battery. Optionally, a MicroSD memory card can be used in addition to the SIM card.

Software and app

The Alcatel LinkZone MW40V Hotspot works with any WLAN-enabled device, whether it is a smartphone, tablet or notebook. The control is optionally via an app for the smartphone (Android and iOS operating system) or via a web interface directly in the browser of the terminal. There are no buttons for control directly on the device or even an integrated display.

LTE Cat4 Hotspot

The LTE modem in the Alcatel LinkZone MW40V supports category 4, ie speeds of up to 150 MBit/s in the downlink and up to 50 Mbps in the uplink. All network operators in Germany, Austria and Switzerland have already equipped their networks for LTE Cat4, with a suitable tariff, the 150 MBit/s should be possible in real applications. Of course, the Alcatel MW40V is also downwards compatible with UMTS (3G) and GSM (2G), in the UMTS network up to 42.2 Mbps downlink and up to 5.76 Mbps uplink. According to manufacturer TCL Mobile, all currently relevant frequency ranges are supported for Europe:

* 4G/LTE: 800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 Megahertz

* 3G/UMTS: 900, 2100 Megahertz

* 2G/GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900 Megahertz

WLAN and battery

The battery of the Alcatel LinkZone MW40V is 1.800 mAh large and can easily be exchanged by the user. The MW40V works exclusively in the frequency range around 2.4 GHz and also supports only the standards 802.11b/g and n, the more modern 802.11ac standard as well as the 5 GHz frequency band is not supported in this hotspot. For the vast majority of users, this should be fine, but in some situations such as at trade fairs or major events, the 2.4 GHz band might have problems.

If you think this Alcatel LinkZone MW40v can’t meet your requirements, you may check other new latest 4G mobile hotspots from other brands, such as Huawei E5787, Netgear Aircard 790, which supports high level LTE standards and of course offer at higher price. If you prefer Alcatel One Touch brand, you may check other models here: http://www.4gltemall.com/4g-brand/alcatel-one-touch.html/ . The Alcatel Link 4G+ Y900 is recommended for LTE-Advanced networks.

Netgear AC810 Aircard Software Update Available

Netgear has provided a software update for the AirCard 810 LTE Hotspot. The update is about 84 megabytes in size and is offered over-the-air (OTA) directly on the router. One of the improvements is the following: After the update, the input field for the PIN is displayed immediately and no longer has to be called via the warning message.

Easy installation

A yellow warning is indicated in the display of the AC810 on the update, the download can be started with one click directly at the device. With a fast LTE connection the update is downloaded within a few seconds. The installation does not start automatically after the download of the firmware file, but has to be confirmed again manually. During the update process, the user must not remove the battery from the hotspot as this could damage the device.

In the test, the update of the Netgear AC810 took about 5 minutes; the progress was shown graphically in the display. After the update a reboot took place and the device was then again as usual ready for use. In principle, there would also be a possibility to download the update via firmware file, but Netgear currently does not provide such a file on its support page, but refers to the OTA download directly on the device.

The version number of the update is NTG9X40C_11.14.08.18 (as of 09.03.2017). The previously installed and up to date latest version was the NTG9X40C_11.14.07.00 from 23.02.2016.

Netgear AirCard 810 LTE Category 11 Mobile Hotspot

Among the 4G LTE routers and mobile requirement, Netgear offers a new device that meets both mobility and a fixed 4G solution, while supports LTE category 11. In category 11, the maximum theoretical downflow could reach 600 Mbit/s. The AirCard 810 manages the 3-band aggregate to achieve these flow rates.

Aircard 810 Technical Specifications

The LTE bands supported by the AirCard 810 are:

3G UMTS: B1, B2, B5, B8
LTE: B1, B3, B7, B8, B28

With the band of 700MHz (B28), the aircard 810s could support the LTE Bands in Europe and other areas, and the LTE category 6 (DL 300Mbit/s & UL 50Mb/s) will be well supported for many network operators. However, the AirCard 810 does not support 2G. The Hot-Spot features a Wi-Fi 802.11ac/b/g/n on 2.4GHz or 5 GHz, 2 × 2 MIMO, and supports multiple SSID and WPS.

Interestingly, the 2.4-inch color LCD screen is tactile and allows operation in menus, avoiding the use of a PC or a smartphone to change the settings. There are dual external antenna connectors in TS9 format, perfect for increasing wireless signal in the countryside.

The design is very classic, with removable battery, a mains charger equipped with an adapter “English”. A USB cable allows the device to be charged, while another USB cable (too short) allows it to charge a smartphone from the Hotspot battery.

The removable lithium-ion battery of 2930 mAh, allows continuous operation time about ten hours depending on the use and up to 250 hours standby time. You will find in the functionality of this MiFi router in the web interface, including the network settings, port transfer, DMZ, parental control, QOS etc.

Netgear DC112A Smart Cradle for Aircard 810s

What we are interested is in the LAN-WAN extension station for this Netgear WiFi hotspot.

The DC112A cradle allows the AirCard 810 hotspot (and other models) to be connected, but it’s not just a docking station.

The DC112A station provides few additional functions than predecessor model DC113A. In practice, the DC112A is a real Internet WAN router with all the functions expected on a router, but it hosts the AirCard 810 hotspot via a USB 3.0 connection, to truly mate it to its functions.

The DC112A station is equipped with a Gigabit WAN and 4 gigabit LAN ports connection to connect to your Access Point or Boxing as well. It is a router that offers all the usual functionalities (IP V6, DMZ, QOS, port forwarding, DHCP …) and offers WiFi functions 802.11 ac on 2.4 and 5 Ghz, as well as a front USB 3.0 connector allowing sharing of Data, including the Internet.

Connectivity is important, the cradle is equipped with 2 large WiFi antennas (SMA format). Two WAN 4G/3G antennas are present inside the unit, allowing greater range and reception for the AC810. The latter can also be replaced by external antennas, since the station also has 2 TS9 sockets for connecting a 4G/3G external antenna with dual connectors.

Once the AC810 hotspot is connected to the station, Netgear offers us an operation of the 2 devices “on demand” and offers a configuration between the WAN connection and the 4G data connection.

The whole solution therefore offers a mixed WAN-4G solution that provides LTE management with aggregation capable of reaching speeds of 300 Mbit/s to 600 MBit/s downlink depending on the country and the operators that surround you. The whole equipped with connectors of antennas that can meet many needs. Finally, if you go on the move, it is simple to put the hotspot in your pocket, without moving the WAN station, and thus leaving a WAN Internet connection totally available on site.

TP-Link M7650 – Powerful Mobile Hotspot

The new portable 4G router looks smart. In order to meet the ever-increasing maximum bandwidths in the LTE networks, a modem has been installed, which the Internet speed could achieve at up to 600 Mbps ( Cat. 11 ) via LTE accesses. The upload is, however, with a maximum of 50 Mbit/s. At the moment (at the end of March 2017) the manufacturer didn’t release detail specifications of this new model. Therefore, we cannot known all the technical specifications, such as the dimension and weight. However, TP-Link confirmed, among other things.

The first thing, the M7650 could reach download speed up 600 Mbit/s. The WiFi module of the M7650 makes a good job here, as up to 867 Mbit/s are implemented via a 5 gigahertz frequency. Devices that do not support WLAN at 5 GHz can get network with 2.4 GHz. With this spectrum, up to 300 Mbit/s can still be implemented in the download. This mobile LTE router should not be blamed for the battery life. According to the manufacturer, with 3,000 mAh rechargeable battery, a maximum of 15 hours of continuous operation is possible. A mobile device can not only be connected with the M7650 via hotspot, but also configure the router.

The Chinese corporation TP-link does not show a new design for M7650 so that it can be special out of the mobile gadgets; it just follows the appearance of the M7310. There is a color mixture of silver and black and an informative TFT display. All information relevant to the operation is displayed on the latter, including the LTE signal strength, the battery status, the current speed or the network operator identification, everything is clear. The display measures 1.44 inches in the diagonal, it can be operated via physical buttons. It’s a pity that TP-Link M7650 does not have a touch screen while the similar model Netgear Aircard 810s already provides touch screen for users. What’s more, the integrated memory card slot accommodates microSD cards with a size of up to 32 GB.

Here now, the TP-link M7650 is not yet available on the market. There is another model Netgear Aircard 810s which has similar specifications and it’s already available on the market. If you prefer TP-link M7650, 4G Mobile Broadband Mall (www.4gltemall.com) accept pre-order of this future-proof 4G mobile hotspot. Once we get this TP-link M7650, we would take test and show our report soon.

Netgear Aircard 810s Hotspot Overview

Netgear AC810: a complete hotspot

Aircard 810s is a 4G mobile hotspot that works with the SIM card from a mobile operator in micro-SIM format. Compatible with category 11 for the 4G LTE, it allows download speeds up to 600 Mbps. We also note the presence of a Dual Band mode in order to benefit from better speeds. It is also compatible with 4G LTE and 3G networks throughout Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, as well as with 3G networks around the world. This is what you must need if you are traveling.

The case of Netgear aircard 810s is really small, yet sturdy and can be stored easily in a bag or even in a pocket.

Accessories supplied with the AC810s

Obviously, we have a removable battery that allows you to get up to 11 hours of operation and 250 hours of standby time. A USB3 cable allows recharging to USB and a USB power adapter is provided.

A cable for the Jump Boost technology allows you to charge Smartphone if it has a micro USB jack, from the battery of the AC810.

Multiple Connections

Your devices can connect to Aircard 810s thanks to the very simple creation of an 802.11 ac Wi-Fi network. By default, it already has a network name and a password, all indicated under the battery but you can simply change these parameters via the embedded menu.

Automatic management of the SIM card

If you insert a SIM card that also includes calls, SMS and MMS and not just the data as in our tests, you will be able to see SMS directly on the AC 810 via the Messages menu. We have used two SIM cards from Vodafone and Orange. The PIN code of the SIM card must be entered so that the hotspot automatically retrieves the operator parameters.

Touch screen for the AC810 hotspot

The quality of the screen is correct but do not expect the retina. Here it makes settings simple and effective. It will be noted that this one is tactile and it can managed also on a smartphone in different menus. The return and home buttons are also tactile. This is a 2.4 inch color LCD.

This screen also allows you to view the connection quality and the connection type as well as the data consumed and the number of days remaining for this quota. It’s very useful.

We tested the hotspot with an iPhone , iPad and MacBook Pro connected at the same time and did not encounter any problems. Indeed, the AC810 is capable of accommodating up to 11 devices at the same time.

Autonomy of the AC810

On the autonomy side, 100% load, we can get duration up to 11 hours but in our first tests, soliciting the flow, the autonomy was not high. In the case of a more conventional use without a systematic flow test, this autonomy should indeed be approached.

Plus, a cable is provided, allowing you to charge your Smartphone if it does not have much autonomy. This is the Jump Boost technology. Thus, we will be able to transfer power to the smartphone. Unfortunately for the owners of iPhone and iPad, it is a micro USB and non lightning connectivity.

Features of the AC810 Hotspot

We note that the menu offers access to the operator settings and that it is possible to activate a 5 Ghz Wifi mode, making it possible to obtain better transfer rates, essential with 4G at high speed. Of course, your hardware must be compatible with this Wi-Fi standard in order to get the most out of it. It is actually Wi-Fi N.

Netgear AirCard 810s Review

Netgear is known as a leader in the world for mobile connections and has distinguished itself in this field producing various portable 3G/4G devices, which are highly appreciated by users. In the series of wireless aircards, Netgear presented aircard 781s, 782s, 785s, and 790s and the Sierra wireless’s aircard 760s, 762s an 763s. And Netgear doesn’t stop here. New models with upgraded technology become available as time goes.

We got the new modem Netgear AirCard 810S for a long time and we present our views today. It is a Wi-Fi router with the possibility to use with 3G and 4G by your SIM card (in the format mini). On the top, we find a single physical button to switch on and to awaken the display. Once turned on the front screen you will light up and from there you can manage almost all settings, thanks to a convenient touch panel or the two keys (always touch) present alongside.

What’s more, the presence of two connections for external antennas and a removable battery (the SIM card holder is located under it) are very useful for users. If the Netgear aircard 810s is working at some places with weak signal, it’s better to connect 4G LTE MIMO antenna with two TS-9 connectors to improve the signal and surfing performance. The removable battery can provide an option for users to use spare battery.

Signal reception on both 3G and 4G are excellent for long trips by train, and the signal was stable for a long time. We have many devices connected to our Netgear AC810S router using the password supplied, but it can be changed with ease. The display gives you lot of information simultaneously: the connection status, remaining battery power, the network name, password, data consumed since the last reset of the counters and days remaining to next renewal.

After enter in the web interface, we can see three columns: WiFi, Messages and Settings. The first allows us to change the Wi-Fi network settings, such as name, password, or even activate the network in 5 GHz(2.4 GHz as default ) or a network for guests. You can also check which devices are connected. And it also presents WPS and the ability to increase or decrease coverage.

The settings for the Aircard 810s portable router can also control the brightness and screen timeout, the network preference, APN, and airplane mode. What most surprised us, however, is the autonomy of this device. With 2-3 connected devices and an normal mobile use, we found a decrease of about 10% battery every hour spent, which is a pretty good result.

This modem Netgear Aircard 810s, is now available at www.4gltemall.com with unlocked version and various accessories such as external antennas. The price is a little bit high, but it is understandable considering that the aircard 810s as a top range of portable 4G modem. With good battery life, good stability performance, information-rich display and connectors for external antenna, Netgear aircard 810s is still one of the best portable 4G routers. Only the high price and lightweight plastic body are disappointing for potential users.

Netgear Presents Nighthawk M1 Gigabit LTE Mobile Router

Netgear introduced the Nighthawk M1 LTE Hotspot –the world’s first Gigabit LTE router a few days ago. The Netgear M1 with model number MR1100 has a Qualcomm modem with LTE Category 16  and reaches speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s in the downlink under correspondingly developed mobile radio networks. Up to 150 MBit/s can be achieved in the uplink. Also the other technology of the M1 hotspot is very up-to-date, for example, there is a Gigabit RJ-45 LAN port, dual band WLAN-ac and a removable battery. The Nighthawk M1 is currently available only in Australia by Telstra.

The Netgear Nighthawk M1 MR1100 differs significantly from the other Netgear LTE Hotspots in the “AirCard” series. The Nighthawk M1 router is in square shape, about 10cm wide, 2cm high and 240g heavy and offers in the center a 2.4 inch round color display. The core feature is Qualcomm’s modem, which supports 4.5G or LTE Advanced Pro with LTE Cat16 (up to 1 Gbit/s downlink and 150 Mbit/s uplink). These high speeds are supported by the 4 × 4 MIMO, 4-Band Carrier Aggregation technologies and 256QAM modulation, but the mobile network must support these features in order to reach the maximum bandwidth. The hotspot of course also works in mobile networks using, for example, only 2 × 2 MIMO and 64QAM.

Technical features

The connection from Nighthawk M1 to the terminals is optionally via USB, LAN or WLAN. For the USB connection, you can use the supplied USB Type C charging cable, and for the data connection, the USB type C connector is used, not the full-size USB connection (the latter is only for the Powerbank function). Alternatively, the RJ-45 Gigabit LAN connection can also be used for the internet connection. Most users will probably use the WLAN, and up to 20 devices can be connected to the router at the same time. The WLAN works in dual-band operation on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz on request, WLAN-ac is of course supported. In addition, Netgear Nighthawk M1 has again integrated the “WiFi Offload” feature, which can be used as an Internet access (also known as WLAN extender/WLAN repeater). What’s more, there are two TS-9 connector in the M1 hotspot for external LTE antenna. If you are looking for a 4G/LTE external antenna for Nighthawk M1, we have one to recommend: http://www.4gltemall.com/4g-antenna-two-ts-9-connector.html

The Netgear Nighthawk M1 Hotspot has a 5040 mAh battery and supports the Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 technology. With the help of a QC 2.0 capable power supply, you can charge the battery up to 75% faster than with a regular power supply according to Netgear. The operating time has been further improved by the strong battery compared to the predecessor AirCard 810, with one battery charge, the Nighthawk M1 can keep working for a full day (around 24 hours).

Unfortunately, the Netgear Nighthawk M1 LTE mobile router is not compatible with the Netgear DC112A docking station, although it is not available for so long. With the DC112A, one can connect Netgear LTE hotspots such as AC785, AC790 or AC810 and thus turn into a full-fledged stationary LTE router. After all, the Nighthawk M1 with the integrated RJ-45 LAN port offers an alternative and is also suitable for stationary use.

Availability

Currently, the Netgear MR1100 Nighthawk M1 Hotspot is only available in Australia with the local mobile network operator Telstra. According to the information from somebody who was able to watch the Nighthawk M1 at the CES in Las Vegas, the Netgear M1 Gigabit mobile router would be available for more carriers in Europe.

Since many carriers over the world haven’t provided the 1 Gbit/s on all networks, the full LTE Cat16 performance of the Netgear Nighthawk M1 will not be available for the time being. Even though, considering the strong battery as well as the RJ-45 LAN connection, user can benefit even in slow mobile radio networks!
