Netgear AirCard 810 LTE Category 11 Mobile Hotspot

Among the 4G LTE routers and mobile requirement, Netgear offers a new device that meets both mobility and a fixed 4G solution, while supports LTE category 11. The design is very classic, with removable battery, a mains charger equipped with an adapter “English”. A USB cable allows the device to be charged, while another USB cable (too short) allows it to charge a smartphone from the Hotspot battery.

ZTE MF287 LTE Router Available as 3Neo for 3 Austria

The Austrian network operator 3 has once again added a new 4G LTE router to its product range: the 3neo by the Chinese manufacturer ZTE. At first glance, the design of the router looks unusual and definitely not like a usual wireless router. Technically speaking, the 3neo router comes from the factory model ZTE MF287, which has an LTE Cat6 modem for up to 300 MBit/s in the downlink and up to 50 MBit/s in the uplink. We had introduced the four recommended 4G LTE Cat6 mobile hotspots previous, here now a new mobile hotspot with LTE cat6 (downlink speed up to 300Mbps) released by Huawei. If you are looking for a mobile LTE Hotspot with LTE Cat6, you get a new option. The manufacturer Huawei offers the device named Huawei E5785. The LTE router with battery is technically strongly related to the predecessor model Huawei E5786, but offers a replaceable battery. In the download the E5785 MiFi reaches up to 300 MBit/s, in the upload up to 50 MBit/s.

The Huawei E5785 is available in black and white and has a small display on the front, which displays status information such as the reception and the data volume consumed, but the display cannot be operated. We also introduced the predecessor sister model Huawei E5787 mobile WiFi, which is still the only router in the Huawei range that has a touchscreen display. The battery of the Huawei E5785 offers a capacity of 3,000 mAh and can easily be changed by the user. According to the manufacturer, approximately 12 hours of operating time are possible with a full battery charge.

The Huawei E5785 provides a micro USB port for charging and data transfer. In addition, there are two connections for an external LTE antenna(Check Huawei E5785 external 4G antenna). Availability of the Huawei E5785

So far, the Huawei E5785 LTE Cat6 Hotspot seems to be available in Europe only in Poland, with the providers Play and T-Mobile. The exact model number for the Polish market is E5785Lh-22c; the Huawei E5785 is also easily usable in other European countries due to the support for LTE 800, 1800 and 2600 MHz (band 20, 3, 7). How to Update Huawei E5786s-32a Firmware

This article describes how to upgrade the Huawei E5786s-32a firmware to 21.297.03.00.309 firmware version. This update activates the Wi-Fi Extender function that is not implemented in the firmware of all E5786 routers, although it is mentioned in the technical specifications.

The Wi-Fi Extender function allows the Huawei E5786 router to switch from the 4G network to a WiFi network available around so that you can access the WiFi network, in order to save your Data plan. If the WiFi signal is lost, the router switches automatically to the data network.

This operation is absolutely not supported by the manufacturer HUAWEI, in case of error during the operation of flashing of your firmware, you could make your router inoperative and totally out of service. The new firmware version essentially fixes security issues related to open-ssl.

First of all, you have to install the HUAWEI drivers, for this we recommend installing the application “Mobile WiFi” whose sources are on the flash memory of the router. This application installs the appropriate drivers for a full USB connection.

Use a good quality USB data cable to connect your router to your PC, we recommend that you use the one provided with the device. You should see a drive containing the application; we installed this application in version 1.12.00.309 on Windows 10 without difficulty. Once this application is installed, the firmware update program is able to communicate with the E5786 Router.

Operations

When your router is detected after launching the program, the program may ask you for a flash code or flashcode in a small window that opens, be careful, it is not a network unlock code, but a code that allows the firmware to be updated.

In the following procedure, simply adapt the text according to the firmware and UI versions you are using. Start by running the firmware update 21.303.07.00.00. Make sure your PC is properly charged if you are using a laptop, and that your E5786 is also fully charged so you do not risk a battery failure during the software update. And the update process would not be suspended.

We recommend that you disconnect the network connection of the PC you are using and then disable your antivirus to avoid interference with the flash.

Then start the program Huawei_E5786_Update_21.303.07.00.00.exe right click “run as administrator” under Windows. A dialog box starts by scanning the USB ports of the PC looking for the device, if it does not find it; make sure that your drivers are properly installed. It is during this phase that the program is likely to ask you for the code of “flashing”.

Your device will restart, in principle your settings are retained, but you will have to re-enter the PIN code of the SIM card.

Released in at the beginning of 2016, Huawei B5328 LTE Router is only distributed to few telecom operators who wish to offer it to their customers with a 4G offer till now.
