Technical features
Unfortunately, Samsung has turn a stripped down version of the new S5 brought to Europe: While the Korean original model called “S5 LTE-A” with a Quad HD resolution provided, you have to be satisfied with Full HD (1,080 x 1,920 pixels). The memory is not also 3, but only 2 gigabytes. For the internal memory, it remains a meager 16 GB which can be expanded via micro SD card by a whopping 128 GB, however.
Upgraded processor
A speed boost over its predecessor is the new processor: the Samsung Galaxy S5 is equipped the fastest Qualcomm chipset Snapdragon 805 Quad-core processor clocked at 2.5 GHz and is also supported by the fast graphics chip Adreno 420th.
LTE-Advanced
The Samsung Galaxy S5 could support the LTE-Advanced network. With LTE Cat6, up to 300 Mbit/s download speed is possible in the already-developed cities. Samsung’s “download booster” allows for simultaneous data transfer via LTE and Wi-Fi: The booster uses a bundling technology to combine Wi-Fi and LTE together and promises so again much faster data transfers – if that makes any sense. The Galaxy S5 also comes with the version of the Google operating system Android 4.4.4 aka KitKat, which among other things, supporting the upcoming Speech Technology Voice over LTE (VoLTE) with itself.
Videos and photos in the highest resolution
The camera of the S5 has not changed to the predecessor: 16 megapixel quad-Zoom, selective focus and 360 degree photos are offered here. Videos are available in Ultra-HD with 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and in slow or fast motion. A fingerprint sensor is used to unlock the screen or the ID when shopping. The voice control “S Voice” is also on board as a heart rate monitor and fitness application “S Health”. In addition, the S5 is protected against dust and water according to the standard IP67. The battery provides 2800 mAh.
