Summary

From the specs, we can see the Netgear Aircard 810s and TP-Link M7650 are both LTE-Advanced Pro mobile WiFi hotspot at the same level. They both support LTE Category 11 and could achieve download speed to 600Mbps. However, the Netgear Aircard 810s is more user-friendly based on the color touchscreen and two connectors for external LTE antennas. They both have the removable battery with almost same battery capacity. The TP-Link M7650 supports more wireless users to 32 devices and it covers more LTE frequency bands on both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE networks. Since Netgear AC810S is an old model now, the Aircard 810s mobile hotspot price is much lower than TP-link M7650 price. If Netgear 810s and TP-Link M7650 both could work with your SIM card, we think the Aircard 810s would be better to buy, but if you want the mobile WiFi to support more wireless users, the TP-link M7650 would be the right one to buy.

Difference between ZTE UFi MF980 and Netgear Aircard 810s

Since more and more network providers deployed LTE advanced networks, many vendors over the world are providing new LTE gadgets to support the latest new LTE networks. The US vendor Netgear Wireless and Chinese vendor ZTE are two of them. Netgear presents the Aircard 810s with support of LTE Category 11 and ZTE provides the UFi MF980 with support of LTE Category 9. In this article, we will check what the difference is between the two mobile 4G Routers.

Appearance

The Netgear Aircard 810s has a 2.44 inch LCD touchscreen, user can do simple settings like operating a smartphone. However, the ZTE MF980 UFi’s 1.44 inch TFT screen is not a touchscreen, so it can be operated by the power and func button, web interface or by ZTELink APP. Of course, the Aircard 810s could also be operated from web interface and Netgear aircard APP. The ZTE UFi MF980 is very thinner than Netgear Aircard 810s, so the feel in hand is better.

They both have two connectors for external LTE antennas and the connector type is TS-9. The connectors in Aircard 810s are located at the two sides of the USB ports with small caps, while the connectors of ZTE MF980 are together. And they both use Micro SIM.

Battery

The battery of Aircard 810s is removable and the SIM card slot is in the battery slot. The battery capacity is 2930mAh, which could support 11 hours for continuous use. The battery of ZTE MF980 UFi is built-in and can’t be removed. And its battery is 2200mAh, which is enough for daily use, but can’t be changed to backup battery. But they both don’t have slot for Micro SD card.

Technical Specifications

With Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 chipset and the support of LTE Category 11, Netgear Aircard 810s could support peak download speed to 600mbps. ZTE UFi MF980 could achieve download speed to 450mbps and upload speed to 50Mbps with the support of LTE Category 9.

Netgear Aircard 810s could connect up to 15 wireless users simultaneously while ZTE UFi MF980 could support up to 32 wireless users to access internet, on this point, ZTE UFi MF980 seems more powerful than Aircard 810s. Regarding the WLAN feature, they could support latest Wi-Fi 802.11ac with 2 X 2 MIMO on dual band(2.4GHz and 5GHz).

Other feature

The Netgear Aircard 810s has an extra function called Jump Boost, which makes it could work like a mobile power bank to charge other electric devices such as smartphone, Pads etc..ZTE MF980 UFi doesn’t have this function per the official description.

Conclusion

Comparing the features and specifications of the Netgear Aircard 810s and ZTE UFi MF980, it’s not doubt that Aircard 810s is better than ZTE MF980. With higher configuration, Netgear Aircard 810s can provide better performance for internet connection, but price would be higher. ZTE MF980 UFi is also good for most users with budget price. But the built-in battery may not be a good feature if you want it to work for long time.

Netgear AirCard 810s Review

Netgear is known as a leader in the world for mobile connections and has distinguished itself in this field producing various portable 3G/4G devices, which are highly appreciated by users. In the series of wireless aircards, Netgear presented aircard 781s, 782s, 785s, and 790s and the Sierra wireless’s aircard 760s, 762s an 763s. And Netgear doesn’t stop here. New models with upgraded technology become available as time goes.

We got the new modem Netgear AirCard 810S for a long time and we present our views today. It is a Wi-Fi router with the possibility to use with 3G and 4G by your SIM card (in the format mini). On the top, we find a single physical button to switch on and to awaken the display. Once turned on the front screen you will light up and from there you can manage almost all settings, thanks to a convenient touch panel or the two keys (always touch) present alongside.

What’s more, the presence of two connections for external antennas and a removable battery (the SIM card holder is located under it) are very useful for users. If the Netgear aircard 810s is working at some places with weak signal, it’s better to connect 4G LTE MIMO antenna with two TS-9 connectors to improve the signal and surfing performance. The removable battery can provide an option for users to use spare battery.

Signal reception on both 3G and 4G are excellent for long trips by train, and the signal was stable for a long time. We have many devices connected to our Netgear AC810S router using the password supplied, but it can be changed with ease. The display gives you lot of information simultaneously: the connection status, remaining battery power, the network name, password, data consumed since the last reset of the counters and days remaining to next renewal.

After enter in the web interface, we can see three columns: WiFi, Messages and Settings. The first allows us to change the Wi-Fi network settings, such as name, password, or even activate the network in 5 GHz(2.4 GHz as default ) or a network for guests. You can also check which devices are connected. And it also presents WPS and the ability to increase or decrease coverage.

The settings for the Aircard 810s portable router can also control the brightness and screen timeout, the network preference, APN, and airplane mode. What most surprised us, however, is the autonomy of this device. With 2-3 connected devices and an normal mobile use, we found a decrease of about 10% battery every hour spent, which is a pretty good result.

This modem Netgear Aircard 810s, is now available at www.4gltemall.com with unlocked version and various accessories such as external antennas. The price is a little bit high, but it is understandable considering that the aircard 810s as a top range of portable 4G modem. With good battery life, good stability performance, information-rich display and connectors for external antenna, Netgear aircard 810s is still one of the best portable 4G routers. Only the high price and lightweight plastic body are disappointing for potential users.

Netgear AirCard AC810S Mobile Hotspot

The Netgear AirCard AC810S Mobile Hotspot LTE is the first portable routers for LTE speeds up to 600 Mbit/s in the downlink. These high data rates are achieved by the use of LTE-Advanced category 11 triple Carrier aggregation, delivering up to 60 MHz of usable frequency spectrum. In Europe, the Netgear AC810S is not yet available. But it’s already available for network operator Sprint in USA and Telstra in Australia(named Telstra WiFi 4G Advanced III). At the MWC 2016 in Barcelona, there was the opportunity to test the mobile hotspot, we can check more details and many photos from the device.

The Aircard 810s could achieve up to 600 Mbit/s in the downlink – no other mobile LTE hotspot on the market could reach this speed currently. Depending on the configuration, the device can be operated at different speeds in LTE Cat11 mode or LTE mode CAT9. As we introduced before, the routers with LTE Cat6 (up to 300 Mbit/s download) is the fastest you could get (eg Netgear AirCard 790S ). This is the situation before Netgear Aircard 810s comes out. However, the grid operators in Germany, Austria and Switzerland still do not allow higher speeds than 300 Mbit/s and can be upgraded on LTE CAT9 or LTE Cat11 in the course of 2016.

Upon request, the Netgear AirCard 810S Hotspot can be connect to an external antenna and LTE to improved for receiving data. The antenna connectors are on the side of the unit, which can be protected with a small cover when not in use. The power button is positioned On top of the router, so that the AC810S is switched on and off and the display on or off.

If you want to buy an external antenna for Netgear Aircard 810s, you can check below the indoor and outdoor antenna:

Outdoor Antenna for Netgear Aircard 810s: http://www.4gltemall.com/4g-lte-outdoor-antenna-2-x-ts-9-connectors.html

The Netgear AirCard 810S Hotspot battery allows an operating time of up to 11 hours in active mode or up to 260 hours in standby mode. The back can be taken off and the battery is replaceable easily by the user, so you can buy a second or third battery if required and travel several days without power supply. Furthermore there is the possibility to load external devices such as smartphones. Thus Netgear AC810S can be used as a so-called “Power Bank”.

The operation and configuration could be done via a large color touch screen on the front and two buttons on the side of the display. The entry is very fluid and intuitive, the menu is almost self-explanatory. The operation via a smartphone app is possible, then user does not need the Netgear AirCard 810S Hotspot in hand or take the briefcase, if you want to make an adjustment.

What’s more, the fast internet connection also arrives at the terminals, the Netgear Aircard AC810S supports WLAN 802.11a/b/g/n/ac on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Up to 15 devices can be connected to the router simultaneously. Before power on, a micro-SIM is required, the unit has no SIM lock and can be used with any provider.

The other vendors such as Huawei & ZTE haven’t released their LTE Cat11 mobile hotspots. So the netgear Aircard 810s would be the world’s first and fastest 4G Pocket WiFi router. Based the reliable 4G router and future-proof technology, Aircard 810s would be a great gadget for technology geeks!
